Greenwich Country Day School is seeking a passionate and experienced Part Time Choral Assistant to support our vibrant Middle School music program in August 2025. The Choral Assistant will play a vital role in fostering a love of music and developing the vocal talents of our students.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide piano accompaniment for choral rehearsals and performances
  • Lead sectional rehearsals to refine vocal technique and musicality
  • Assist the Chorus Director with the preparation and execution of the school musical, including rehearsals, performances, and other related activities
  • Cover music classes as needed, ensuring continuity of instruction and a positive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience directing large and small vocal ensembles
  • Basic understanding of vocal pedagogy and the ability to apply it in a teaching setting
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
  • Proficient piano skills and the ability to sight-read music
  • A genuine passion for teaching children and fostering their musical development
Preferred  Qualifications:
  • A degree or background in music education is preferred but not required
  • Experience in choral conducting is a plus
  • Experience as a vocal performer is beneficial
  • Creating movement on stage for upper elementary and middle school musicals is a plus
